The Monster from Pee-Wee's Playhouse

Here is Georgia's rendering of the monster from the "Monster in the Playhouse" episode of Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

If it's been a while since you saw it last, here's a screen-cap for reference. When you consider that Georgia drew this from memory, it's pretty impressive. (Less so when you factor in that she watched that episode at least seven times in the last three days...)

The lettering, in case it isn't clear from the image, is done in "monster language."

Eat the Tree

And here's a picture of a giraffe eating leaves and berries from the top of a tree. I love how happy the tree looks about being eaten.

Christmas Elf

In the spirit of the holiday, here's a Christmas elf Georgia whipped up the other day.

Amends

What with the holidays and various other interruptions, I've been derelict in updating the Art Show. Here are a few recent pieces, to try to make amends.

First up, it's everyone's favorite superhero, Superhero Hero Bunny. (Georgia used a stuffed toy of Mo Willems' Knuffle Bunny as the model, but the cape is her own invention, naturally. I'm not sure I remember what the infogaphic in the bottom right corner is about. Perhaps the "Yes" is for "Hero," and "No" is for "Monster"?)

Speaking of Mo Willems, here Georgia has drawn the cover for the book he has yet to write, I Am a Pigeon.

And here's a drawing with a narrative built in. It's entitled "3 Minutes Later," and depicts what happens with the various animals in the scene when they notice the bee who has just flown into view in the upper left corner. Presumably they're worried about being stung.
